For many people, the EU is not tangible and characterized by bureaucracy, but the Hanseatic city of Bremen benefits from Europe. A large number of projects will also be financed in Bremen by the EU and thus offer added value for the citizens. Afterwards Frank Piplat, head of the liaison office of the European Parliament in Germany, addressed the word to those present. He emphasized that the EU is currently being hit by issues such as the refugee crisis or Brexit, but that globalization can not be stopped. Then Lisa Boekhoff, business editor at the WESER-KURIER, took over the moderation of the EU Citizens' Forum. The podium was made up of MEPs David McAllister (CDU), dr. Joachim Schuster (SPD), Dr. Helga Trüpel (Alliance 90 / The Greens) and our Prof. Dr. Christiane Trüe, Professor of Public Law and Program Director of the Masters European Studies at the University of Applied Sciences Bremen.
