The EFMD accreditation is an internationally highly recognized seal of quality that confirms the special quality of study programs and business schools. For accreditation, the institution and the program underwent an extensive 2-year-review based on strict and comprehensive quality criteria. The first time, accreditation is usually granted for three years and often with conditions, but in this case the quality of the study program convinced the EFMD so much that the accreditation was granted for a full five years with no strings attached.
Accreditation reflects the extraordinary quality of the study program
IGC Dean Professor Tim Goydke is delighted that the IMBA program has been awarded one of the three most important international accreditations in the world: "The label 'EFMD-accredited' enhances the reputation of our study program and reflects its extraordinary quality. Hochschule Bremen is now one of only five higher education institutions in Germany with EFMD program accreditation."
IMBA program offers dual degree at one of HSB's four partner universities
The reviewers were particularly impressed by the international network. For 15 years, the IMBA program has offered students a dual degree at one of four partner universities worldwide as part of the International Business School Alliance (IBSA). "With the EFMD accreditation, we are catching up with network partners who are all internationally accredited and can thus sustainably strengthen the international profile of the IBS Alliance," Program Director Professor Frank Giesa sums it up.
Professor Lydia Scholz, Dean of the School of International Business, who is responsible for the program, is pleased about the great success and emphasizes: "The accreditation is an incentive for us to push ahead with the international orientation, especially in these challenging times".
Professor Karin Luckey, Rector of HSB, sees the top accreditation as a milestone for the University: "The seal underlines the high standard of quality and pays tribute to the central profile element 'internationality', which we have successfully developed over the years. The accreditation is not only a well-deserved recognition for all involved, but also increases the international perception of the university and opens up perspectives for the further development of the range of courses offered."
