Applying for an MBA or Master
There are only three steps to enrolling in the IGC:
1. Contact your program coordinator and get all your questions answered.
2. Gather your documents (and have them translated if necessary).

For admission we require the following qualifications and documents:
- proof of previous university degree(s) and transcripts (1)
- a copy of your passport or birth certificate (1)
- curriculum vitae (1)
- proof of English language proficiency (i.e. TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent) (2)
- a letter of recommendation by a university lecturer or employer (not for the part-time programs) (2)
- letter of motivation (not for the Flex part-time programs) (2)
- passport photograph (2)
- proof of practical knowledge or work experience (1)
- original APS-Certificate (for Chinese and Vietnamese applicants only) (1)
Important Note: New Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) for Indian applicants
From November 1, 2022, APS certificates will be a mandatory part of the documents to be submitted with your visa application.
The documents can be sent during or after you complete the online application form.

Original diplomas or certified copies of original documents are required. If you submit normal copies along with your application, you must present the originals at the time of enrollment. Documents that are not in English or German must be translated into English or German by an approved translator for the application.

Applications should be submitted through our application portal. If you have any questions about the application process, are unable to apply online, or are experiencing technical difficulties, please contact our application team.
Submitting documents
If some of your documents are not available at the time of application, you may upload them later. Please make sure to upload these missing documents at the time of enrollment. Please note that applications without supporting documents cannot be processed.
Waiting List
The International Graduate Center may accept applications after the regular application deadline. If this is the case, your application will be placed on a waiting list.
Within a period of three to four weeks after receiving your application, you will be notified by e-mail of your acceptance or rejection. Please note that applications can only be evaluated if they are complete.
Visa requirements
If you are applying from abroad and have been accepted to one of our programs, please make sure you take care of the visa process immediately. It may take weeks to get an appointment at the German Embassy. Further information

*210 ECTS are required for applicants from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Applicants from Europe with 180 ECTS can be admitted under the condition of a mandatory internship of at least 22 weeks as part of the study program, which can be completed in the 3rd semester. An equivalence check is carried out for all others.
- Bachelor's degree in a business / economic related subject or equivalent *
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience after first degree
- Letter of motivation
- High English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 points or TOEFL iBT min. 90 or equivalent)
- All documents must be provided in English
- Sufficient financial resources for tuition fees and living costs
*210 ECTS are required for applicants from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Applicants from Europe with 180 ECTS can be admitted under the condition of a mandatory internship of at least 22 weeks as part of the study program, which can be completed in the 3rd semester. An equivalence check is carried out for all others.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Politics, Business/Economics or related or interdisciplinary courses of study, e.g. International Relations
- Usually a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience after the 3rd semester of the first degree
- Letter of motivation
- Letter of recommendation from an employer / university teacher
- Curriculum vitae
- High English proficiency (IELTS 6.0, or TOEFL iBT min. 80)
- Sufficient financial resources for tuition fees and additional living costs in Bremen
- Bachelor's degree subject that is primarily non-business-related*
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience after first degree
- Letter of motivation
- Curriculum vitae
- High English proficiency (IELTS 6,5 or Toefl iBT min. 90 or equivalent)
- Sufficient financial resources for tuition fees and living costs in Bremen

- Min. of one year of postgraduate work experience (as a pilot, in aircraft maintenance or in the aviation industry)

Please note that some programs have specific requirements so it is advised to check the program website to ensure you meet the requirements.
If your prior degree has been fully taught in English, you may provide us a formal letter from your university stating that English was the medium of instruction. There are certain exceptions to this requirement. If you are interested in receiving a double degree with the focus on International Finance and Investments, a TOEFL or IELTS test is required. The University of North Carolina Wilmington, USA (International Finance and Investments) accepts TOEFL and IELTS tests.
