Master in European Studies

Our vision is to prepare students for European leadership roles in the private and public sector. We have designed the program to provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary and up-to-date study of economic and political dynamics in Europe.

Studies in European private and public management, in European economics, law and politics, an intensive seminar in Brussels plus a period of practical training offer an ideal combination of theoretical knowledge, management education, practical skills and European expertise. Our unique blend of international academic expertise and application-oriented classes make this an exceptional experience.

Added value will be offered by looking at the current crisis in the EU and discussing possible solutions.

Program - Master in European Studies

The Master in European Studies program has been designed to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date study of economic and political dynamics in Europe. Studies in European private and public management, in European economics, law and politics, an intensive seminar in Brussels plus a period of practical training offer an ideal combination to acquire theoretical knowledge, management education, practical skills and European expertise. Tuition is provided exclusively in English. The program has been carried out since the academic year 1999/ 2000.

The degree program can be studied in two options. Option 1 spans three semesters and equals 90 ECTS for students entering the program with 210 ECTS, Option 2 comprises two semesters for students with 240 ECTS upon entering the program. Option 1 requires the completion of 10 modules, including a Master’s Thesis (18 ECTS credits) and an oral examination plus an additional third semester internship. Each taught module is continuously assessed and consists of 4 contact hrs/wk for one semester, which entails about 8 hours of study per week. Option 2 requires the completion of 10 modules, including a Master’s Thesis (18 ECTS credits) and an oral examination.

Classes begin in early October and end in September of the following year. After successful completion of the courses and the thesis (Option 2) or an additional internship (Option 1), candidates will be awarded the internationally recognised academic title Master of Arts (M.A).

The program provides sound preparation for careers in European and international businesses, institutions and administrations, or for further European research. It offers interdisciplinary training for tomorrow’s managers of European affairs. Graduates of this course will have a broad range of career opportunities to choose from, including activities as economic and legal advisers, positions in private and public management, lobbying activities, political offices and functions in the diplomatic services.

Experience counts! We have been offering this program for many years and have gathered a lot of expertise along the way. We strive to constantly improve the program, adding new optional courses and refining the structure all the time. Students´ feedback plays a crucial role. more
