Exciting Times Ahead - We Have Moved To A New Campus!

Students Applying For The 2018 Winter Semester Will Already Start Their Studies In New Representative Building.

The Need For A New Campus

Since the International Graduate Center’s founding in 2004, its number of students has been continuously increasing. In order to be able to accommodate future growth and to give our students the best possible work and learning environment, it is necessary to expand premises. For this reason above all, we are particularly happy to announce the graduate center’s relocation. The works on the construction site are steaming and as of October 2018, the growing number of students, lecturers and administrative staff of the IGC will be provided with more comfort in a fully renovated and modernized office building.

The New Premises

The historic building, standing under monument protection, is situated in an ideal location – not only because the bus and tram station (“Hochschule Bremen“) is directly in front of the building, but also because it is just a short walk away from the Neustadtswall campus with all central buildings including the canteen of the Bremen University of Applied Sciences. In fact, the M building, which contains the university’s library, is located immediately opposite the new IGC campus in Langemarckstraße.

In the past, the listed building itself has long been home to the former local registrar’s office of Bremen Neustadt. With the aim of providing outstanding facilities for our students, it is now in the process of undergoing major construction. The fully renovated new class rooms will captivate with high ceilings and large window areas creating a pleasant learning atmosphere. Nevertheless, besides implementing modern equipment and extending the building with a brand new sports hall, the new campus will maintain its typical and charming old-building characteristic.

Surrounded By Parks

Despite the campus’s location in the heart of Bremen city, students will benefit from being surrounded by green areas and parks. The park area Neustadtswallanlagen has a surface of 160000 square metres and is divided into three separate parks – Justitia Park, Zentralbereich Park and Leibnizplatz Park. This provides students with endless possibilities of relaxing or studying outdoors. In the summertime, the parks also become the setting of an annual festival with live music, several street food stalls and workshops.

Whether you are already an IGC student or you are planning to apply for one of our master programs, there is much to look forward to in the future and we are excited about welcoming all of you in the new facilities!
