University of Porto joins the International Business School Alliance

The new partner expands the existing range of specializations.

The International Business School Alliance (IBSA), of which the International Graduate Center (IGC) at Hochschule Bremen (HSB) is a member, has gained a new partner: the University of Porto. This addition is a significant asset to the “International MBA (Double Degree)” program offered at IGC as part of IBSA.

Starting in Fall 2027

Students in the program “International MBA (Double Degree)” will have the opportunity to spend a semester studying at the University of Porto's Faculty of Economics and Management. As one of Portugal’s leading universities, the University of Porto will contribute outstanding academic expertise and an excellent international reputation to the IBSA network. This will create more opportunities for students to gain valuable international experience.

The IBSA network now includes five partner institutions in Europe and the United States:

  • University of North Carolina Wilmington, USA
  • IGC – Hochschule Bremen, Germany
  • University of Valencia, Spain
  • ESSCA School of Management, France
  • University of Porto, Portugal

The dual-degree MBA program at IBSA prepares aspiring leaders for careers in international business.

The program combines comprehensive management training with the opportunity to specialize in a specific field. Students complete a common curriculum consisting of core modules such as "Multinational Financial Management," "Business Analytics," and "Global Marketing Strategies". These modules are taught uniformly at all IBSA partner universities.

At the same time, each partner university offers its own academic specialization

It allows students to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals. Depending on their preferred study location and specialization, students can begin the program at IGC in Bremen or at one of the other partner universities, then complete their international studies within the IBSA network.

The addition of the University of Porto further expands the program’s global reach

It underscores IBSA’s commitment to providing an internationally oriented, high-quality management education.

More information about the new partnership and expanded study opportunities will be announced in fall.
