Praxis Summer Camp 2025

Three weeks, 15 companies, and lots of exciting projects — that was Praxis Summer Camp 2025! From August 4 to 22, Bremen became a creative hub where students collaborated to solve real-world business challenges.

This year marked the ninth round of the successful teaching format organized by the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics at the University of Bremen. Around 80 students from Bremen, including from IGC, as well as from Oxford Brookes University in England, participated. During an intensive project phase, interdisciplinary and partially international teams of up to five students worked on actual problems from 15 participating companies and institutions in the Bremen region, including Anheuser-Busch InBev, Airbus, and Jacobs.

Kick-off at IGC

This year, the Praxis Summer Camp kick-off event took place in the entrance hall of IGC. Following opening remarks from Prof. Dr. Lars Büttner (Dean of IGC), Maren Hartstock (Office for Practice and Transfer of the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics at the University of Bremen), and Dr. Martin Holi (Professor of Business Administration, Social Entrepreneurship, and Entrepreneurship at Hochschule Bremen), the teams presented their projects. Mentors from the respective companies provided advice and support as the teams worked on these projects.

Business model for sustainable and circular fashion

The projects were diverse and ranged from optimizing operational processes and digital business models to addressing sustainability and strategic positioning issues. For example, the ACS project group for sustainable clothing solutions included IGC Master's in Management – Digitalization and Transformation students Mehreen Ali and Ann Mary Bosco, as well as MBA European/Asian Management student Inakshi Bajpai. With the help of technology, they developed a strategy for the company to expand further into the B2C sector.

During the project phase, Mehreen Ali explained, “We are developing a business model that makes sustainable and circular fashion more accessible. The key with our project is for people to learn how to repair and sanitize garments so that they can be used multiple times. the application will feature an AI Stylist, a closet tracker and reward system that will encourage people to adopt circular fashion and help reduce fashion waste.”

On August 22, at the closing event at the Forum am Domshof at the University of Bremen, all teams presented the results of their three weeks of work.

Benefits for students and companies

The Praxis Summer Camp is an annual event that combines scientific methods with practical challenges. It is solution-oriented and creative, and it involves close cooperation with regional and international partner companies. Students apply their theoretical knowledge to real-life situations, refine their teamwork and project management skills, and gain insights into potential employers.
