The first semester officially began in November 2024 and ended in March 2025. It started with an Orientation and Welcome Week, which led to the start of classes.

Looking back: The first year of MDT
1. IGC get-together
Get-together at IGC on November 19, 2024, marking the end of the Welcome Weeks, bringing together students from all the programs, staff and lecturers. A flag was raised in front of the IGC building to welcome the new students – the Class of 2025! There were lots of games, good food and drinks and even a photobox.
2. Cyber Security and Data Protection Module
The Cyber Security and Data Protection Module in November 2024, led by lecturer Mar Diez Henao, was enjoyable for the students and provided many valuable insights. A group photo was taken at the end of the module.
3. Trip to the Amazon Fulfillment Center
On February 4, 2025, the students went on a trip to the Amazon Fulfillment Center BRE2 in Großenkneten near Bremen with their lecturer, Anne Wiechert, as part of the Supply Chain Management and Digital Transformation module. The purpose of the trip was to observe the digitalization of supply chains and the extent to which Amazon automates its fulfillment centers around the world. Very exciting insights into the practice of such a global player!
4. Transform 2025 Event in Berlin
On March 20, 2025, students attended the Transform 2025 event in Berlin. The B2B event focused on the digital transformation of companies. Exciting keynotes, practical workshops, new products, and the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices provided plenty of impetus and enriching insights from different perspectives — from digital strategies to sustainable implementation. The event concluded with a job fair for individuals looking to advance in the field, offering a valuable networking opportunity with industry leaders!
