Each graduation ceremony is special, marking the culmination of an educational, intensive, and memorable course of study, during which students have endured stressful learning periods, passed exams, and forged lifelong friendships.

During this time, many graduates have not only gained a wealth of expertise, knowledge and skills for their professional careers, but have also matured and grown personally. Graduation is also a special day for the IGC staff, who organise the ceremony each year with great joy and attention to detail. Not only our numerous international study programs, the high level of cross-border mobility and the worldwide cooperation networks in teaching and research contribute to this. Above all, it is the diversity of our students and staff that shapes the intercultural environment at HSB. IGC plays a particularly important role in shaping the international profile of Hochschule Bremen.”

In the heart of Bremen: The Metropol Theater, centrally located in the city center, was the venue for the graduation ceremony on September 23, 2022. About 100 IGC graduates and 200 invited guests attended the ceremony. Welcoming speeches were held by Prof. Dr. Karin Luckey, former Rector of Hochschule Bremen, Tim Cordßen-Ryglewski from the Senator for Science and Ports, and Eduard Dubbers-Albrecht, President of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce.

After the restrictions caused by the pandemic in the past, the atmosphere this year was unique and the joy among the graduates was especially great because the programs were able to celebrate a joint ceremony again.

Graduation 2021

The 2021 graduation ceremony was dominated by the covid-19 pandemic. 102 graduates celebrated their graduation in small groups in the IGC foyer under strict infection control measures. As the number of guests was very limited, relatives were able to watch the ceremony online via a live stream.

Due to the pandemic, many of the students had only met their cstudy mates through online events and were meeting them in person for the first time at the graduation ceremony.
