Living and studying in another country is both exciting and interesting. At the same time it means a lot of organizational and administrative work. When you come to study at the International Graduate Center you do not need to worry about this. Our student service looks after you right from the start. They are happy to answer all questions with regard to your planned study visit in Bremen, Germany.

Our international student assistance (ISA) takes on the task of finding accommodation, giving support with visa applications, clarifing insurance queries and helping you in dealing with authorities both at home and abroad. This service is of course free of charge. Furthermore ISA allocates tutors to new students and regularly organizes excursions and many events during your study in Bremen. For example does ISA offer movie nights, sightseeing trips, a christmas party, BBQ and excursions to several cities, such as Berlin or Brussel.

During your stay abroad you will spend a lot of time studying at the International Graduate Center. Nevertheless, we will try to make your stay here as comfortable and exciting as possible. We organize events and trips, which include nice get-together events, sightseeing tours through Bremen, visiting the famous Becks Brewery, a harbor tour and a trip to Berlin. We will show you some German culture in order to help you adapt to your new environment. We will inform you on a regular basis about these events and will make sure that you will feel at home in Bremen.

At the central station take tram 8 or the bus 24. Exit it after round about 10 minutes at the stop 'Am Neuen Markt'. After exiting, follow the rail track in the same direction as the tram/bus for about 100 meters. The International Gradate Center is located on the left side right across from the supermarket 'REWE'.

Coming from the airport you take the tram line 6 in the direction of the University. Exit it after round about 7 minutes ath the stop 'Theater am Leibnizplatz' and follow the rail track for about 200 meters. Turn left and follow the 'Osterstraße' for about 200 meters. The International Gradate Center is located on the left side right across from the supermarket 'REWE'.

Arrangement of Flats

The ISA Office offers its support when you are looking for a flat or a room. From experience we can say that the housing market is especially tense at the beginning of each semester.

Therefore we recommend to start with the accommodation matter as soon as possible. After having received the admission letter, the ISA will support you with information and contact details of several private and commercial landlords in Bremen. The cost for a single student room in a shared flat is approx. 300 - 350 Euro including all additional costs like water, heating, and electricity. Single appartments are starting up at roughly 450 - 600 Euro. Feel free to ask for more information!
