It's all about Logistics from 2012 onwards in the International MBA

New Specialization in Bremen: Young professionals learn about new strategies in international trade.

Considering the growing networking of global economy the logistic sector becomes even more relevant. It not only simply enables the transport of goods: "The purpose of logistic is the efficient, cost-effective and evironmentally friendly planning; controlling as well as surveillance of the total flow of information and goods within a supply chain", explains Prof. Dr. Jan Dethloff. The logistic expert lectures at the IGC since many years and knows that, "the requirements of modern logistic concepts are increasing - and along with it the demands of those working in this field".

Therefore from February 2012 onwards students of the International Business School Alliance (IBSA) will be able to specialize in International Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) enables students to study at two different IBSA-partner institutions and gain a dual-master's-degree.

Prof. Dethloff has developed the contents of the new logistic-specialization together with four further branch specialists. He will be teaching "Logistic Networks" which is one of the five new modules: International Transport, International Sourcing and Procurement Logistics, International Maritime Transport, Project Management and Logistic Networks.

The target group is graduates with practical experience, who would like to expand their management competencies in the logistic area. According to Prof. Dethloff the students: "learn about the coherences of international trade and gain deeper insights in logistic processes and concepts through practical examples. Hereby they are enabled to independently help design visionary logistic networks". Bremen's location is tailor-made for the specialization, which takes place every summer semester: "Logistics is a major topic for many companies and guarantees an ideal exchange between theory and practical experience".

New partner in France

The IBSA-alliance is very happy to have a new partner in France: the Novancia Business School Paris. The two interlinked "Grand Ecole" business schools Advancia and Negocia have recently merged and belong to the leading business schools in France. They were founded by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1992.

From the summer semester 2012 onwards the Advancia-Negocia will offer its specialization "International Business Development" to IBSA students and will start taking in applications for the ibsa-program in fall 2012.
