Course Content


Core Modules

 
Introduction to International Management provides learners with a deepened knowledge of internationalization strategies, concepts and instruments of strategic management, and a systematic knowledge in international marketing.

People and Management deals with differences in work behaviour determined by culture, explains how business decisions are influenced by the culture of a respective country, and enables students to develop their understanding of key issues of managing human resources in a global context.

Business Environment aims to equip students with a systematic knowledge and deepened understanding of economics and global economic issues. An overview of research methods is provided and quantitative and qualitative research methods are explored.

Finance and Management addresses financial markets, trade financing, financial control of multinational companies, assessment of investments and risks, capital costs and risks in foreign trade, and is concerned with modern controlling concepts and instruments.

International Business Law and Taxes introduces basic principles of international business law, is concerned with corporate ethics, codes of conduct and values in management systems, and addresses the purpose, kinds, regulation and use of taxation in international business.

International Operations and Project Management addresses the latest Operations Management theories and techniques, and fundamental principles of Project Management, its possible fields of application and its relevance for process optimization of the value chain.

  • China’s historical development, economic and social geography, current politics and society
  • Elementary basics of modern Chinese and Chinese orthography (pinyin)
  • India’s historical development, economic and social geography, current politics and society
  • Elementary basics of modern Hindi and Hindi orthography (devanâgarî)
  • Japan’s historical development, economic and social geography, current politics and society
  • Elementary basics of modern Japanese and Japanese orthography (kana and kanji)
  • Korea’s historical development, economic and social geography, current politics and society
  • Elementary basics of modern Korean and Korean orthography (hangŭl)
Area Studies II: Business and Economy / Language Training
  • Economic and business issues and their framework conditions in China
  • Extended knowledge in standard Mandarin grammar, extension of the basic vocabulary
  • Economic and business issues and their framework conditions in India
  • Extended knowledge in standard Hindi grammar, extension of the basic vocabulary
  • Economic and business issues and their framework conditions in Japan
  • Extended knowledge in standard Japanese grammar, extension of the basic vocabulary
  • Economic and business issues and their framework conditions in Korea
  • Extended knowledge in standard Korean grammar, extension of the basic vocabulary
Area Studies III: Management / Language Training
  • Key dimensions of Chinese management practices and insights into doing business with Chinese companies
  • Deepened analytic and perception abilities in Chinese, understanding and speaking in everyday’s situations
  • Key dimensions of Indian management practices and insights into doing business with Indian companies
  • Deepened analytic and perception abilities in Hindi, understanding and speaking in everyday’s situations
  • Key dimensions of Japanese management practices and insights into doing business with Japanese companies
  • Deepened analytic and perception abilities in Japanese, understanding and speaking in everyday’s situations
  • Key dimensions of Korean management practices and insights into doing business with Korean companies

Area Studies IV: Case Studies / Language Training
  • Use of case studies to introduce students to real-life business problems in China
  • Further development of communication skills on daily topics of general and business interests.
