May 3-4, 2012: After Graduation- International, Jean Monnet funded Conference

Studying and then? Practitioners and Experts talked about careers, prospects and possibilities

A degree in European Studies equips students with an in-depth understanding of economic and political dynamics in Europe. The knowledge and skills gained can lead to a wide range of diverse career options, but do not translate into a single job description. Students often lack insights into job options and need guidance to advance in their careers.  The international, EU funded conference After graduation helped visitors to identify the roads to a European career. The main aims of the conference were:

  1. To offer career guidance to graduates by providing insights into job options (including research) and offer discussions with practitioners.
  2. To identify the skills, competences and educational requirements necessary and to discuss the implications for European studies curricula, raising the question of employability
  3. To foster a dialogue between all stakeholders and help universities to equip students for the job market so that they can reach their full potential.

The conference is supported by the EU/ Jean Monnet Action.
