Living and studying in another country is both exciting and interesting but at the same time it also means organizational and administrative work. Our international applicants and students do not need to worry about this. The Student Service of the IGC looks after them right from the start and answers all questions with regard to the planned study visit in Bremen beforehand.
The international student assistance (isa) takes on the task of finding accommodation, gives support with visa applications, clarifies insurance queries and helps the students in their dealings with the authorities both at home and abroad. This service is available to students free of charge. Furthermore the isa allocates tutors to the students and regularly organizes excursions and events during their period of study in Bremen.

At the beginning of your stay abroad there are a lot of things you need to figure out. But no panic, the ISA Office (International student assistance) is happy to help you if there are any problems or questions. Here you can find support and advisory service, this includes:

The ISA office support will help you find a flat in Bremen. We would like to recommend you the service of ‘Home Bremen’. Home Bremen is a company which offers apartments to students, that are located nearby the Hochschule Bremen. All apartments are furnished and include internet access.

The StudyApp is a service from the international student assistance (isa) and supports you in planning your stay abroad at the International Graduate Center in Bremen. Important dates and deadlines that you should meet will be displayed in a time line to let you know when you should finish which part of your planning. It will help you save yourself from a stressful planning in the end.

During your stay abroad you will spend a lot of time studying at the International Graduate Center. Nevertheless, we will try to make your stay here as comfortable and exciting as possible. We organize events and trips, which include nice get-together events, sightseeing tours through Bremen, visiting the famous Becks Brewery, a harbor tour and a trip to Berlin. We will show you some German culture in order to help you adapt to your new environment. We will inform you on a regular basis about these events.
International Graduate Center/IGC
Hochschule Bremen / University of Applied Sciences
At the central station take tram 8 or the bus 24. Exit it after round about 10 minutes at the stop 'Am Neuen Markt'. After exiting, follow the rail track in the same direction as the tram/bus for about 100 meters. The International Gradate Center is located on the left side right across from the supermarket 'REWE'.
Coming from the airport you take the tram line 6 in the direction of the University. Exit it after round about 7 minutes ath the stop 'Theater am Leibnizplatz' and follow the rail track for about 200 meters. Turn left and follow the 'Osterstraße' for about 200 meters. The International Gradate Center is located on the left side right across from the supermarket 'REWE'.
Arrangement of Flats
The ISA Office offers its support when you are looking for a flat or a room. From experience we can say that the housing market is especially tense at the beginning of each semester.
This is the reason why we recommend you the service of 'Home Bremen'. Home Bremen offers rooms close to the Hochschule Bremen and the IGC. All rooms are fully furnished and include internet access. The cost for a studentroom in Bremen is approx. 350€ per month.
